HA !! Spring... I dealt with 16 springs yesterday :hello2: Making progress. Maybe today Ill bolt the clutch and trans up to the long block for an install saturday morning. I say long block since the hoist is getting to the "iffy" stage with a loaded motor and trans. Heater core is back in and buttoned up with lotsa little stuff coming together... Its been a long winter!

Looking for a driver quality air cleaner like this one in the pic with 2 nozzles; NOT the GS horns. Just looking for something different...  Bill

Looks good Bill.  I just can't seem to get used to all that red, though....  :laughing7:

A warmer, drier and happy weekend to all!

Dear Bill, Chuck, Brian, and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Looks good Bill.  I just can't seem to get used to all that red, though....  :laughing7:

. . . It will be fine . . . . . . so long as no bulls get a good look at that red engine! . . . .

A warmer, drier and happy weekend to all!

By all means wishing you the same!  :sunny:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Its really a digital illusion. Thats Bright Cherry Red from Rustoleo. Its as red as can be, so Ill call it a camera setting. With or without flash dont matter. I almost went CAT Yellow. DANG the judges, full speed ahead!

Blew today off after the Cardiologists' visit. The bad news is that I dont see him until 3-25-2020. Everything is AOK... Cant even play the sympathy card. Shucks.

Gonna get back on it tomorrow. Pat gave me the day off. Probably get the motor and trans mated up, if all goes well of course, and toss it in the BAD LASS Sunday. Just a bunch of bolts to go. Right. We'll see where we get Film at 11:00!   Bill

Dear Bill, Jim, and mid-60s Buick restorers,

Its really a digital illusion. Thats Bright Cherry Red from Rustoleo. Its as red as can be, so Ill call it a camera setting.

Okay that explains a few things!  So you don't feel the need to use high temperature engine paint?  I suppose you've never had a problem with Rustoleum?

Blew today off after the Cardiologists' visit. The bad news is that I dont see him until 3-25-2020. Everything is AOK... Cant even play the sympathy card. Shucks.

. . . . . Of course you can't play the sympathy card!  Quite the opposite, you should send a sympathy card to your cardiologist!  The fellow won't be able to make any more money off of you for a whole year!  . . . .

We'll see where we get Film at 11:00!

It may seem strange, but it really makes me feel old  to think of how many "youngsters" have no idea what "story at 6, film at 11" actually means!  The world has changed an awful lot in our lifetimes!

In by 9, out by 5 was a slogan from Earl Scheib for a complete paint job!

Spray paint is two components... A vehicle (clear) and plastic coloring for opacity. The rustoleum has served me well for many years, and the zinc primer underneath helps the temp issue. My 72 455 with headers has nice red paint AT THE HEAD TO HEADER JOINT after 5 years of daily summer driving. $25 a can for some stupid red Buick paint?? Not this cowboy. BTW, I do have the BIG Buick belt buckle haha... YEEHAWW!!!!     ws

. . . Oh I couldn't agree more!  . . . . On the other hand, for a handsome and chic shade of Nailhead green . . . . . . . .

Model T Fords used that color, almost. Hank called it MOLE SKIN. I think its more akin to O.D. Every professional amateur is gonna think this thing is a chevelle with a 454 in it anyway. After today's work I am realizing one thing; this guy is gonna be a MONSTER!

COMPLETELY bolted in for the duration. Had to pull the solenoid off the starter to get that in. Its gonna be a real cork smoker getting exhaust manifolds in. Trans X member is in and parking brake cable looks like somebody came and did it.

Check the roller chain to pump arm clearance with several full rotations of the assembly and no sign whatsoever of a scratch from the chain. Hmmm...   Bill

Good Morning,
Went out for a shakedown ride yesterday.
1st time on road since paint.

I decided to delete the side molding, I'm not sure if I like it as much without the trim.
Here are my latest pictures.
Regards,
Robert

Looking good Robert!  With just the front spears, it gives a GS look.  I like it!

Dear Robert, Chuck, and mid-60 Buick lovers,  :love4:

Thanks for sharing photos of your car's first outing after fresh paint!  :icon_thumright:

I hope everyone will photograph their cars as they finally wake up from their winter hibernation!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:
