Hey Dan... where in GB are ya? We are right on the lake at Two Rivers... Its kinda odd that it can be zero and lake effect snow by the foot. Anywhere else would be too cold for snow. Even the snowblower runs on 10W oil. Ahhh... but the new shop with a 100K furnace and being totally insulated doesnt stop Buick fun!
Theres so much stuff to clean, prep and paint, I dont know where to begin; so I "putz"... $30 worth of paint stuff at menards today!  ws

Sundogs according to Wikipedia (Re: Staying Warm Today??)

Dear Jim, Dan, Chuck, Bill, and mid-60s Buick owners where it gets really chilly!

Sundogs were out today too.

Thanks for the photo!  Your photo is as good as the ones you'll find on Wikipedia!

Nice picture Jim. Does that signify anything weather wise ?

Here is the definitive description from Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

Basically it requires a particular sort of ice crystal suspended at a particular altitude.  So - surprise! - it means the air is very cold!

So if you didn't know that, would you feel any warmer? . . .  :icon_scratch:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Dear mid-60s Buick owners were things really chill out!

The National Weather Service is close to shouting the alarm about the arctic air headed for the Midwest and Eastern parts of the country.  Here is the latest short term discussion:

https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/discussions/pmdspd.html

So if the arctic blast is headed your way - definitely brace for it!

Cheers, Edouard

For some definition of . . . . (Re: Is Everyone Staying Warm Today??)

Dear Jim, Bob, Tony, and 65GS.com experts on "antifreeze," . . . .

It?s on now! May hit over 20 below tomorrow night with much colder windchill.

Oddly enough, your post Jim has a question mark instead of the apostrophe in It's at least on my Mac anyway.

We are suffering here in Oregon as well

For some definition of "suffering."   :icon_scratch:  What happened?  Are you going to have to mow the lawn or something!  :laughing7:

Hi everyone, NYC will be getting the arctic blast starting on Wednesday going thru Saturday with the wind chill it will be well below zero..time for some antifreeze

Now that's a timely suggestion!     So long as you mean the alcohol-based variety  :cheers2: instead of the glycol type!  :laughing7:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Here’s a first, at least for me, mail delivery has been cancelled due to the cold weather. Air temp is minus 19 but the wind chill is minus 47. Think I’ll stay inside today.   :tongue3:

Same first for us here in SW Michigan.  We have a mere -11 with -36 wind chill this morning.  And, being the smart people that we are, we're also staying home!!

Stay warm all!  Ply liberal amounts of antifreeze if necessary!

 :cheers2:
