More Time to Work on Cars Now
« on: February 26, 2020, 05:44:30 PM »
Last day of work was Feb. 7, so far it has been great. This sign was up at work, it looks better in person and was a nice touch.

Congratulations Jim.  I'm sure you'll enjoy more time with your family, more seat time in your cars and it will be fun to see you at some of our events.

Congratulations Jim! . . . .

. . . The only potential problem is that you might end up being so busy that you'll wish you could go back to work to relax a bit! . . . .  :laughing7:

Congrats Jim!  I've been retired 13 years, goes by quickly; I never have enough time in my day. A recommendation I make to new retirees is, start a work schedule so you know when the off days are supposed to be.  If you must work on an off day be sure to take comp time.
Best of luck in your retirement.

I feel so fortunate that I put my 25 years in at ComEd in Chicago, and they sold us out to SoCal Edison. I started my ComEd pension at 50 and took a 5 year vested pension (reduced for early annuity) from SoCal. The only 2 drawbacks are I cant sleep past 0400, and the overtime aint there. Just a word to the wise, STAY BUSY. Cars help, but an antique Harley and an antique 36 foot boat keep me going. Dont ever feel guilty about a power nap when ya need one... The boss isnt peeking around the corner anymore LOL...  Bill

Congratulations Jim !!! Retirement is good.. As long as you keep busy ! Stay away from the couch & the TV.  :nono:
After putting in 27 years with NYPD I retired at young age of 48, I'm 59 now and I never looked back. Only ahead, I keep busy with the Buick's, Buick Literature, I'm active with my local BCA Chapter, Have 5 fish tanks full of fish, do all the maintenance on my 1937 English Tudor home and play cab driver for my teenage triplet boys, then worry about my daughter that's away at college. And since My wife went back to Teaching at the local HS I do the laundry and some cooking too. I very rarely ever watch TV. Don't have the time to. :icon_thumright:

Staying active is the key  :cheers2:

Yes, have a great retirement! I will be working till I drop!

I think that is at least a partial true for a lot of us....lol. I always thought I may drop the projects, maybe take a part time job,but 30 some real jobs,24 years in business, and a car habit that costs more than it used to....all I can say is ?Happy Official Retirement Jim?......now,you won?t be able to figure out how you ever had time to go to work.
