PSMCDR in Stanton, MI
« on: March 16, 2019, 05:26:19 PM »
We will be attending this event this year. It?s a laid back event with all stock musclecars. We are planning on Saturday only but may change that. Rhett and Starc will both be racing Buicks along with many others.

This was a great event and the weather was great! There were a lot of Buicks there both racing and spectator driven including 2 65 Gran Sports. Time went way too fast though as we were not able to get enough time to visit with the racers. We did get to see Starc and Rhett race though as well as many other GS?s.

Dear Jim and 65GS.com summer event participants,

This was a great event and the weather was great! There were a lot of Buicks there both racing and spectator driven including 2 65 Gran Sports. Time went way too fast though as we were not able to get enough time to visit with the racers. We did get to see Starc and Rhett race though as well as many other GS?s.

Glad it was a wonderful event!  Any pictures by chance?

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

What did you use to take the photos? (Re: PSMCDR in Stanton, MI)

Dear Jim and mid-60s Buick owners who care constantly tripped up by new fangled technology,

I took pictures of many of the Buicks but have trouble posting them.

Sure is frustrating that there isn't an easy way to post photos.  What sort of device did you use to take the photos?  Was it a digital camera or smart phone?

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Dear Bill and 65GS.com victims of high tech,

Call a boycott on technology! I use a flip phone to talk (what a concept!!) and a camera (Canon Coolpix) for pics, and keep them on my desk top... Ive beeen off the leash my whole adult life LOL....

*Sigh* it sure would be great if the users of technology could somehow remind the silicon valley that their products should be practical and easy to use.  Unfortunately, these companies have figured out that making older technology obsolete is a great way to drive sales.

I have managed to keep all my photos on my computer and that simplifies my life.  I only need to know one set of software tools.

Thanks for the photo of BADLAD!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

I agree Ed! We need to get back to the altruism of "User Friendly"!  So Pats in Missouri visiting her daughter and S-I-L and the 4 kids. The one kid just entered kidneygarden. The parents and kid had to go to an orientation meeting for 2 hours the night before. A couple of years ago, another "graduated" from K-garten and actually had to be handed a diploma in CAP and GOWN in the auditorium. I still havent got an answer if the kid got a new Camaro or something yet  :dontknow:

Ah... such is life.  So Pats on to a new adventure; she bought an entry level DRONE. Mind you this isnt the 2500.00 model its more like 150.00. OK, so it has two joy sticks and a camera, neat huh? Not so fast. Pat doesnt drive stick yet (at 64 y.o.)  :read2: so she's learning to fly. So now, to work the camera, she had to download an APP on the ap-tab-lap-tab thing  :angryfire: and use that for taking pics (mpgs actually) BUT also has to control the flier with the crack phone on a touch screen. Not even a SIMs card to plug and play; has to go through an APP and download the footage, compress, and well, you know how thats gonna go... Sounds like fun for us older guys.

Nothing like tactile stimulation ya know? It has a 10 minute flight time battery and a "home" button. She got the 9 minute tone and hit "home". It made it back and died about 5 feet over her head. At least the rotors are caged LOL... SIX hours to charge a 10 minute lithium ion battery. Hope it doesnt start a fire in the kitchen at 3 a.m.
Give me sulphuric acid or give me death.

Just another day in the life of the techno wizards!   Bill

Dear 65GS.com faithful,

Jim was also suffering from the “photo upload blues,” so I offered to help out.  Here are the first 4 photos.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:
