Got my 1965 Skylark Assembly Manual on Friday. It is a bound volume, not loose like many of the other assembly manuals I have seen. Every page has a Faxon Auto Literature watermark on it to stop people from reproducing it - good idea. Was concerned that it would not contain much information about the GS but there is LOTS of GS specific information.
For example, the attached shows the regular production options deleted and what was added to make a Gran Sport from a Skylark. The manual refers to the GS as the W-15 option which is what is on many of the 'build' sheets for cars assembled in Fremont. L31 is the option code for the engine. In many spots the engine is labeled as a '399' not a 400 or 401.
The manual has many diagrams. The diagrams list associated part number, etc which can be very useful. Seems to me that most of the diagrams are included in the service manuals but are in a more logical grouping in this. And, even though they warn of faint copies, I found they were all legible but some were shrunk down a bit too much for my old eyes to read.
Am very happy this is available. Is it worth $44.95 shipped to your door ? That's for you to decide. I think it is.
