I talked to the owner a couple days ago and he's asking 3,500 for the car.

I'm after this one...

I called and made the owner an offer.

He's waiting to hear back from Gary first to see if he's interested in it or not.

For those wondering, If I get this car, I plan on bringing it home and replacing the hood, trunk lid and doors with some spotless post sheet metal I got off of the California car I bought last year.  This GS doesn't have a running engine so I plan on using my extra "pallet motor" straighten the quarter panel and then simply put it back up for sale.

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been having some serious thoughts about thinning the herd and selling off everything but my convertible.

I figure that the parts I could add to it would help me clear out my shop a little plus put the car a little closer to actually being restored by someone.

I'll keep you all updated on how this turns out.

I'll wait till it's done before selling it of course.  All the parts have been bought and she'll be a brand new car inside and out in about six months.  8)

I figure that if I finally give the guy at the bodyshop a deadline of May, he'll get motivated and get the car done.

Depending on how the ole girl turns out.. I might just inclined to maybe keep em both.... I suppose I'll just need to wait.

You looking for another 65?    ;D

Oh God... I think that you and my wife are talking to one another more than I thought!

It never ceases to amaze me how it's always the guy with a jungle for a front yard complaining about how tall the neighbors grass is.   :o

Where's the love man?   :-*

God.. I've lived that motto for about six years now and unfortunately I'm at a point that I need an intervention.

It's always the "old guys" that you run it to that have lived this motto that always seem to have all the great toys tucked away somewhere and we admire.

Unfortunately the rest of my life style does not permit me to have a couple of big barns out back and storing these things has become very expensive.  I considered building a shop next to the house but the zoning where I live will not permit that and with the housing market where it's at for a while, we are sitting still where we are at for a little while.

I've also been thinking about how life is short and how my little collection could be reduced down to a couple really nice cars that would be easier to maintain and store and of course these cars could be moved around to keep the collection fresh.  Of course keeping the ole convertible would be a priority unless someone came down the road and offered an obscene amount of money for it.   :o

Made the deal this morning and picking her up on Saturday.

For those who may have felt that they missed out this time around, don't worry, in the Spring it looks like I'll probably have two complete matching numbers post cars sorted out and ready for sale.

Each car will probably be soda blasted and gone through so the new owner will know exactly what they are buying and if anything is missing.

Start saving now kids... these are my winter projects and pictures will follow this winter.
