It feels good...
« on: May 29, 2011, 10:11:27 AM »
... to finally get my car back on the road once again. :hello2: :rocker:

Last weekend, which was Victoria Day in Canada, my brother and I changed the timing chain, cover, and water pump. This cured all previous coolant leakage issues I was having.

Yesterday, I drove it about 80 miles round trip to the company golf tournament without seeing the nailhead miss a single beat. This was on gas purchased in 2009!! Who says gas goes bad after a few months  :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin: Perhaps Canucks know how to refine it better eh!!! :bootyshake: I don't remember whether I used any stabilizer when I parked it in 2009 either.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to some cruising this summer, as long as the rain holds off. :angryfire:

Here's a few photos from last weekend:

I seriously need to hit the salad bar with greater frequency. :laughing7:

Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to detail the engine bay that day, as I could only use my brothers garage for the day.

Glad to hear you got to take her for a ride.

I have started cars that have sat for years and ran the old gas with no problems. Of course, it might have been so old it was good? The way I do it is; if it burns, run it and dilute it with new gas. haven't had a problem yet. However, when I purchased my 72 Ford F-250 the PO had lost the key to the side tank and it hadn't been used in literally years. I drained that tank and the stuff that came out was dark and thick, probably very bad gas.  :laughing3:

BTW, I suggest you take the GS out for another ride today! :hello2:

I do plan to fill the tank with fresh gas today, as long as it doesn't rain. The sky currently has this ominous appearance of an imminent thunderstorm.

Tom,

Great to see you back on the road with your Buick.

Get her looking pretty for the 2015 BPG event and you can give me a ride in your car this time.   :glasses9:

That's my long term plan Chris, well that and saving up some cash to accomplish the above goal. If nothing else, I will have the AC working for sure :rocker:

That's great Tom! Feels good doesn't it?
I've had 2 of my 3 streetable Buicks out this year. It's been a long winter and a very, very, wet Spring.
Can't wait to take #3 out for a cruise! :rocker:

Oops, busted  :icon_biggrin:  That paint will not win any awards as it's definitely showing its age.
