AutoGear Muncie Transmission?
« on: March 22, 2011, 04:24:27 PM »
Hi all,

I am on my second Muncie wide ratio and have come to wonder if anyone has tried or is running a newer Autogear Muncie?

also is anyone running a M22 gearset (rockcrusher) as from what I have read this is a stronger, yet noisier gear design, is the sound that bad or is it livable on a semi daily summer driver

I am considering getting a new M22W from 5speed.com has anyone had dealings with them?

Thanks,
Jim

I purchased a new Muncie style for my '70.  It worked great especially compared to the worn out junk that was in there!
I like Autogear's gear selection,

Thanks for the input,

I finally ordered one from Larry at D & L Transmission as he was the only person I could find that had the M22W gear set as AutoGear and Paul at 5speed.com were awaiting a shipment of gear sets from Italy as the orginal manufacture went under and got bought out.

I should have it by the second week of May so can hardly wait to see how a New transmission feels not to mention curious how anoying the gear whine will be but got that style of gears as they are supose to be a stronger design (less end load on the case)

well wish me luck will post some reviews after I get some miles on it

Larry is good, I purchased gears from him that are going in my Wildcat (same T-10 style as 65/6 GS).
So - Wide Ratio -2.5x first gear?
