Anybody have any information on relative rarity of a '65 Lark 'vert with a 4-speed, 300 V8? I'm getting one tomorrow, as a donor for my '65 GS 'vert (auto) project.

If it is rare and desirable, I may rescue it instead of pirating from it.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

The production reports don't break it down to body style, only by series.
3000 series = Special
4000 series = Skylark
There were 5845 Skylarks built with the 4 speed option, or about 4.5% of the 4000 series Skylarks. That includes 2 doors, 4 doors and wagons, and GS's.
For GS convertibles, about 28% came with 4 speeds, 598 cars.
So there's a range from 4.5% (all Skylarks) to 28% (GS) for 4 speed cars, or 622 to 3874.
I'd guess 10-15% 4speeds would be more reasonable for the 13,837 Skylark convertibles, or 1,383 to 2,075 cars.

What transmission would it have been? Muncie, Saginaw, other?

It should have a Borg Warner T10 in it.  Buick used the T10 exclusively for the 4-speed option in all their cars until 67 when they switched to the Muncie.  Saginaw transmission was Chevy only.

Trans, would be a T-10 Borg-Warner! a early car would have a flat handle hurst shifter and a late car would have a t -handle lock out shifter!

Thanks, Brian and sizzler. I'm trying to sell this project car again, I haven't done anything with it and it is way down on my list of projects.
