Hey Mark, I hope all is well you and your family.
By all means "Mr. Admin" please feel free to build out any sections or expand anything that is existing. If anyone has any ideas they'd like to pass onto Mark, please share and I'll look to you all to keep things moving till I can focus on the site again in a few months.
The Forum area is really open for expansion and you what works best for the users. Things I'm looking to add in the coming months are:
Site Calendar - FYI for shows / events and Live chat windows.
Live Chat - Yep.. it's been there for a while, I've got some new code that should dress it up and make it manageable.
Expand out the tech doc. area - GS Supplement manual etc
Add a magazine reference area - Mark if you have the cover scans with dates and pages of the 65 GS articles, I'll like to build an entire page dedicated to sending folks in the right direction to locate this material. For copyright reasons I want to stay away from putting the whole magazine or article on-line and just feature the cover with a paragraph about the article.
65 GS Race history - Section focused on those 65's that took the tracks in the 60's 70's & so on...
More information on colors and other options like we had before. Section for decoding your plate and a portion of the registry information that guards the VIN numbers and privacy of the members while sharing some general information about the cars still around (amount, colors, options etc).
Now for something I've been thinking about for a while... I'd like to start the prework to organize an event to try and bring at least fifty 65 GS's together in the year 2015 to celebrate the fifty year anniversary of our cars.
I've debated if we try to do a cross country event and have people join us along the way "Pro-tour Style" and / or if we open this up to all makes and models of 65's and organize with other clubs.
The other thought is that we organize with other clubs and turn it into a fund raising event that benefits our hobby in some way. I'd be very interested in hearing anyones thoughts about this.
I know this might sound ambitious.. but everything starts with a "I wonder if"! 8)
Thanks,
Chris
