Jared,

This is the defining 65 interior thread:

I have no experience with PUI. Brian Stone used SMS for his door panel work, and they turned out great, but not the cheapest route depending on your budget.

I looked into the PUI covers.  When i asked the ebay seller about wheather they had the buttons or not, he was unsure and stated that if I wanted "show quality" , this was not the product to buy.
I thought that was an interesting comment and appreaciated his honest opinion.

I'm not able to comment personally as to the quality of any of the products currently out there. When I did my first three Skylark/GS restorations, there were no aftermarket seat or door panels available. I was fortunate to find NOS fabric/vinyl including the ribbed insert panel on the back of the front seat.

For the next two , I personally sewed the covers after searching down the correct white. At the time, the current manufacturers used an off white. When placed next to the original door and quarter panels , the samples looked yellowed.

Unfortunately, the aftermarket stuff  is less costly then doing it myself.

When you consider  the costs , my opinion is that the Legendary product looks like a good deal.

Just an opinion, for what it is worth. Maybe nothing.

Loren,

Your opinion will always be valued here.  ;D

Are you needing white coupe door panels?  I actually have a full set for the front and back that I've been thinking of selling (brand new).

I couldn't tell you which brand they are although they are in a CARS shipping box.  I picked them up at the Nats last year from a fellow who had them left over from a project.

I'd part with the entire set for $250 and even be willing to send em out to you for review if you wanted to check them out.

Thanks

Chris,
Thanks for the offer, but I no longer own anyhing with a white interior.
I did a '65 GS for a guy back in MN. That was a red /red hardtop with a white interior.  After he won all the hardware he wanted , it was sold and he went back to Corvettes.
The other white interior was the '65 GS convert that I sold to Pat. He did a spectacular job with the restoration. Allways wanted to finish that one, but it helped with the tuition for our son.
Now I have black interiors, red interiors and blue interiors to get done . One hardtop and two thin pillar coupes. Maybe a convert again someday.
Need to get some projects done first.
Again, thanks

I can totally understand and relate to "too many projects"   :D

My boy is going through a messy divorce right now and my cars have taken a bit of a back seat to helping him out first.

I suppose that at the end of the day they both (the cars and kids) bring us happiness (on most days) and that's what life is all about at the end of the day.

I have had the legendary interior stuff in my hands, but I sent it all back.  The quality seemed to be fine, but their metalic red color is way off and they didn't seem interested in changing it.  It was more of a copper color than it was metallic red.  I sent it all back and bought NOS material from SMS and had a guy in VA hand make the seat covers out of it.  SMS made the door panels for me as well.  Headliner and package tray came from Year One.
