Front Fender Molding Question
« on: May 03, 2010, 10:06:58 PM »
Hello my name is Joseph and as of yet I do not have a 1965 Skylark GS.  I am looking at one and have some questions regarding the molding on the front fender.  Was there more than 1 style up front?  I have been told that there was 3 possibilities, some more prominent in number than others.
1) The typically seen molding over the vents
2) A smaller molding that goes down the side of the car as well as the 1st one mentioned
3) One that only encompasses the front fender.  Basically the same as the 1st one mentioned but continues to the front.

I am going on what a friend saw at a swap meet and what the guy selling the car said.  Currently I an waiting for him to e-mail me pics.  Thanks for the help.

I am having a hard time determining which you are talking about by your descriptions, but the best way to tell is look at the 65GS pictures in the gallery on this site.  There is only one type of fender vents/moulding that is correct for a '65 GS.  The others came on Specials, Skylarks, and Sportwagons.
'64 Skylark 2dr ht 4 speed, 300-4
'65 GS ht, 4 speed,2-4s,AC,PS,PB,PW,Pseat,Tilt
'66 Skylark 2dr ht 300-2 automatic
'78 Yamaha DT 400 2 stroke
'88 Ford F-150 4x4 (used to be 4x2)
'89 Ford F-350 4x4
'03 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6-speed manual (daily driver)
