Dropped an engine
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:17:26 AM »
In my 65 Skylark GS project...finallly...
I bought the car w/o engine, yesterday was the first time the front springs have felt the weight of a
Nailhead in many years!   Its looking good, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner look.
( I have aluminum rocker covers too, just in case  :laughing7:)
I want to get this thing running soon.
Is there gas tanks available for these cars (new)?
Which tubing company is making the brake lines/fuel lines?

Thanks!

Ted

Hey Ted,

I got a tank from the parts place, but I think they are all made in Canada from the same place.
Year one and original parts group both carry the tanks.
As far as tubes I got mine from inline tube they fit nicely both the brake and fuel lines, there number is 800-385-9452
Another one that people have used is classic tube 800-882-3711

Ted,

I got my tank from Tamraz - made in Canada. As Jay said, go with Inline Tube. They used the long, front to back lines that run along the frame  from my car as patterns. So they should fit. They also had the only rear axle hard lines and the front crossmember crossover line that fit too.

Get the tank insulator pad from Patton Glade.

Can vouch for Inline tube quality - Did  dual cylinder conversion, all brake and fuel lines and hoses with their products, excellent quality..

I have a good inner and outer heater box sitting in my parts room if you are looking for a set.  They came off of a '65 special I parted out years ago.

Deep pan is something Carmen Faso fabricated, along with matching pickup tube.    I'll take a picture when I pull this thing back out to install the brake lines
'
Brian- I am interested in the heater boxes!

The engine is looking great Ted!

I'm hoping to see her in person next year at BPG.
