Dropping a 455 into a 65 Skylark - What's involved?
« on: April 17, 2010, 07:27:31 AM »
Hey guys,

I know a fellow that was asking what is involved in dropping a 455 into a 65 Skylark.

Motor mounts - What year is used?
Oil Pan - What year is needed?

I figured I'd ask the experts since I've personally have never taken on a 455 transplant.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

As you know, I have not done this but have considered it enough to do some research. The motor mounts some people have used come from TA Performance http://www.taperformance.com/products.asp?cat=361.

The 'other' Buick site has several older posts as to how to do the swap. Just do a search and several will come up. Of course someone on this site has probably done it too.
