Blast cabinet question
« on: October 18, 2024, 10:16:53 PM »
I have a new Eastman B120 blast cabinet that I would like to be able to move around in my shop. I am considering adding drop down casters to the legs. The only thing I am worried about is will it be stable enough when I am moving it. It could be a little too top heavy. Anyone having any experience with this modification?

There is a mobile stand made that works well. I have my table saw on one and my band saw on another.
Here is a link to the type I have: https://www.menards.com/main/tools/power-tool-accessories/tool-stands-saw-horses/bora-reg-universal-mobile-base/pm1000/p-1444423352754-c-1496857146263.htm?exp=false

This and others are available on Amazon.

They work well for moving the equipment and are very stable. It has a foot operated lever to raise and lower it.

I welded some step down caster mounts on the legs and then added a needed cross brace which also gives me a place to put the foot pedal when moving the cabinet. Seems to work well.

Dear Kurt and mid-60s Buick caregivers who need good tools for the job!

I welded some step down caster mounts on the legs and then added a needed cross brace which also gives me a place to put the foot pedal when moving the cabinet. Seems to work well.

Thanks for sharing!  I'm glad you were able to use your skills to upgrade your blast cabinet.  Nothing better than upgrading a good tool at a modest cost in dollars and time!
