AACA Grand National & National Meets - Concord, NC - April 5-6, 2024

AACA's annual Grand National Meet was held at Charlotte Motor Speedway yesterday, April 5. This is a judging event for cars that have achieved Senior National awards at regional National meets. I decided to make the road trip in pursuit of the next level award for the Verde Howitzer and to get together with a couple of old 65 GS friends, Mark Asher and Brian Stone. Brian's red hardtop achieved its Grand National award and the Verde Howitzer won its pinnacle AACA Senior Grand National Award. Mark's hardtop had already achieved its Senior Grand National award, so he didn't show it at this meet. Both Mark and Brian have been training to judge cars at the AACA meets and did some judging at AACA's Southeastern Spring Nationals held today. In addition to participating in these two AACA meets, Connie and i really enjoyed reconnecting with Mark, Brian and his wife, Hollie, again. Old cars create great friendships!

It's been genuinely chilly here, so sweatshirts and jackets were required. I decided to coordinate Verde colors today. Go Green!!
