I asked Sloan for info on my '66 GS, maybe 20 years ago.
They didn't have specific info on my particular car, but did send me a nice packet of general info such as the order forms and other factory literature.

Much of that sort of stuff (and much more) can be found right here, in the photo gallery.

Builder's plate? (Re: Gm history information)

Dear Dball, Loren, Walt, and curious mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Anybody know if you can get information on your 65 buick from GM historical? Or elsewhere.

What sort of information are you looking for?  If you would like to learn more about your own 1965 Buick, certainly you can learn a lot from the cowl builder's plate.  As Walt points out, there is a lot of useful information on the 65gs.com website.  For example here is a link to a page to decode that builder's plate:

https://65gs.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/1965-Buick-VIN-plate.pdf

However, that key is only for the 65GS.  However, it is similar for the other Buick A-bodies.  If you are willing to post a picture of the builder's plate, the folks on this forum can decode it for you.

Let us know how we can be of further help!

Edouard

Dfdexman, and fellow enthusiasts. If you want in dept information on your 65 Skylark you can get a book called 64-67 Skylark/Gran Sport, "Setting a new standard", also includes Special, Deluxe, Sportwagon. By Walter Bruegger. It's 80 pages with great information including weekly production figures.  Spiral bound on heavy cardstock. $35.00  My book was purchased 3 to 4 years ago, so you may want to check with Walter to see the current price.
                                         you can contact Walter at.
