Tachometer calibrating
« on: October 14, 2023, 07:58:37 AM »
Hello Everyone. Does anyone know if the tach in a 65 GS can be calibrated? Mine is reading about 1800 when actually should be 2100.  Is reading zero when stopped.
Thanks, John

Yes, the tachometer has an adjustment. It is on the back of the housing that the tach is in. There should be a round sticker dot. Remove the dot and there is a potentiometer with a screwdriver slot for adjustment.

John,

Your best bet would be to send it out & have it updated to modern internals for best & most accurate readings.
Otherwise it will end up driving you nuts & IF your not careful could cost your much more to repair a fried component.
Just my thoughts.

I have one that doesn?t go all the way back to zero so it starts out at 300 and reads that amount over.
