« on: October 23, 2022, 09:43:40 PM »
Hey all , I know this isn't a Buick only show but theres a few us going to this years MCACN ( muscle car and corvette nationals  ) show . thought i,d just throw this out there in case anyone else was gonna be in the area or planning on going , maybe we can get together for lunch or dinner OR just meet up and shoot the breeze .
It's Nov 19th and 20th at the Donald E Stephens Convention center in Rosemount , Illinois .

We went last year but probably will not make it this year. If you stay at the Hilton in Rosemont you can walk to the show using the skyway. Also Gibsons and Morton?s steakhouses are next door! Book early as room prices rise every week.

John shared some pictures from the event and is having trouble loading them here.  So I volunteered to post them.  Hopefully, John will chime in with comments.

Enjoy!

Hi everyone .  First off if you've never been to this show its a must see , the cars here are absolutely amazing .
The first picture of the black 70 hemi cuda convertible  was the star of the show . The story goes like this . This car has been known about by many mopar enthusiasts for many years but the owner never wanted to sell it . Until now because his health is failing so the family decided it was time to let it go .
The guy bought it brand new and and it was his daily driver up until 1976 when he bought a new plymouth of some kind not sure think it was a duster . At that time he liked the way the new car drove so he parked the Hemi car in the garage and then later to a storage unit and there it sat for 50 years .
This is where it gets good , so there was ONLY 5 1970 hemi cuda converts built with a 4 speed and this it the last one . They have all been accounted for now .first picts are as found and the next ones were after they cleaned it up with a light buffing . they did put different tire and wheels on it for the show .
So if your thinking what a car like this goes for $$$$$ wise , its a MERE 3.5 MILLION .
A long ways from what our Buicks bring LOL

That red 65GS convert is Starc Traxlers car .  One of my personal favorites was that black 1958 Buick Limited . that car was STUNNING to look at . We tried to come up with a figure on what it would cost in todays prices JUST to do the chrome and stainless on it and we came up in the 60k range . there was 141 pieces of chrome just on the grill .
This year they had a section called wings over america . There was over 40 Daytonas and super birds . One guy owned 11 of them and is going to be selling the at Mecum auction in Kissimmee in jan .

Another little kid bit .  That Chrysler 300 Hurst edition was another immaculate car , I never even knew those existed . And then finally that last photo is of the Cuda i purchased in may . I owe the purchase of that one to Mark Asher and Frank Freidman . They were instrumental in telling me about it and helping dig it out of its resting place for the last 30+ years .
