Are they both Skylark GS correct parts?

I have two clutch brackets that weld to the frame for a nailhead stick shift setup. One is slightly different than the other. I assumed they were both for a Skylark until I compared them. Please look at the pictures below and tell me what you think. As you will notice the part that welds to the frame and by the pedal linkage bar, only goes around one half way while the other projects much further.

Both are correct! The taller bracket is the earlier of the two! There is actually three different versions of this bracket! I even have a nos one somewhere on the hoard! There’s a picture in the gallery on the nos section showing two of the three different pieces! The nos one is in the back I think!?

Just curious, could the different types be because of different plants, although if I am remembering correctly there was 4 plants, Flint, Baltimore, Kansas and Fremont.

My 65 has the taller or tube inside both tab design.

I believe there were two manufacturers of frames, one was Parish, I don't recall the other one.

All of my cars, a late 65 build and 66's, have the half tab on one side. It may be a running change to the design. I'll guess it was just as strong but easier to make.

I have seen no variation plant to plant only tall early style verses open later upright! Yes a production variation ,this happened for several reasons, material usage, different vendors making parts for gm etc! If you ever get a chance to talk to Dennis Manner he has firsthand and knowledge with explanations for this! I was privileged and so fortunate to get to talk to him one on one at this years GS nats! What a great person! There were three frame stampers! Pontiac, Parish, AO smith I want to say! 64-65 frames are the closest cosmetically, 66 and 67 are a little different and are one year only frames cosmetically! But 64-67 frames will fit under our cars if right components are used as in 67 the spring pockets are different for the rear axle!
