Rear speaker control fader

Hi, did 65 skylark's come with a rear speaker option? I see the radio has the pin out for the fader control  and rear wire out.jim

Hi Jim .  Yes Jim I believe they did . My hard top has the rear speaker option, the radio was missing when I got the car but upon disassembly I found a blue wire running under the seats and into this metal loom . Not sure on the converts if it was an option or not . ( wire protector pictured below  )
There has been some discussion in the past about whether or not that option is on the trim tags .

Hi I've seen the faders on the fullsized cars but the knobs are different styles.jim

Yes the radios were set up to pull out a jumper and place a fader switch in the right side radio control! They would also have a terminal out the back to connect to the blue wire that went to the back speaker as described! Although I have had a few of the radios with no jumper or pigtail for the rear speaker! I believe there is a body tag code for rear seat speaker! I will have to check my notes! Many cars had dealer installed kits too! But some were ordered radio delete! Also! Who needs a radio! I want hear the roar! Lol

My first '65 even had a reverb. I guess it was an add on or out of another car. it didn't work so I threw it away. Wish I had kept it  for nostalgia if nothing else.

Brother-in-law had a65 bonneville with am-fm reverb really sounded nice.jim
