What color fuel filter is correct
« on: November 21, 2021, 01:28:38 PM »
I know for a non A/C car the fuel filter # is GF-94 but was there a specific color that they came with from the factory ?
I'm seeing few different color AC filters . The ones I have so far that came in original boxes . ( blue and silver )

On the parts cars and unrestored cars that I have seen and dealt with they have been either the silver or gold! There is also red that I have seen ! 1966? The blue ones seem to be later!? Another example of variations of production verses replacement parts!? I might have all four!? I will try and get pictures!

The red ones were for cars with factory air conditioning that had the return line out of the filter back to the tank.  Blue is correct for non-air conditioned car.  Not sure where the silver one fits in--thinking it is for older cars.  Later on, all the replacement filters had a gold color plating on them for both air and non-air cars.

Pics!, red one is a gf423 box says 63-66 Buick with a/c ! The manuals list the a/c ones as gf96 and non a.c. As gf94 The 94's pictured are fresh out of the box! All have the same part number! 5650780 And would be considered correct!? So from the factory blue or silver!? I think there is a blue one in the stash also but wasn't going to rip open every box!!
