Just returned from the AACA Central National Meet in Auburn, Indiana. The event was a combined AACA meet and a special Buick Celebration sponsored by the Buick Heritage Alliance. Cars were judged by both groups. There were reportedly 94 Buicks in the meet, with about 90 of them judged in the Buick portion of the event. Glenn Vinz and I showed our cars and had them judged by both groups. We were joined by Kevin and Angie Champagne and friends Bob Bowen and Joel Van Amberg.
We represented our 65 GS team well. Glenn's Artic White GS and the Verde Howitzer both won the top award available from the AACA at our first judging, First Junior.
And the Verde Howitzer was honored with the "Stage 1 Award", one of five special awards from the Buick Heritage Alliance. The Stage 1 Award honors the "Outstanding Buick GS at the 2021 Auburn Buick Celebration". It was gratifying to have the car honored in this manner.
It was a perfect day for the event with lots of sun and comfortable temperatures. I'm very happy with the performance of the Verde Howitzer in its first competitive meet. And congratulations to Glenn!
