Ken,

I think I am going to use this clip to put my 65 two door sedan back on the road. Sorry it this offer caused you any trouble, but it just seems like the thing to do at this time. Thanks for the interest.

I am rethinking the driver idea, just did the math plus I still have a V-6 post sedan when I am finished. So, let me know if you are still interested. I also have a decent set of Skylark taillights with a very nice center piece. Minimum surface rust under the taillights, just treat and paint and the trunk floor looks good. Some minor pitting, but if you treat/blast and use original type paint I don't think it would show. If I were going to use it I would just blast and paint it. Remember we look at rust differently in California, no salt on the roads. If still interested I will get you some more pictures and a complete description, I wouldn't want any surprises if you are coming a great distance.

Kurt,

I posted some pics of the GS we picked up in the new members area,  and I saw your reply there, yup 4spd car! This is the car we are needing the rear clip for as you can see by the open trunk picture!

The 2100 mile trip looks a little too daunting at this time, so we're going to pass on the clip you have. We're hoping to find one a little closer to MN.

I'm sure we'll be needing some smaller stuff as well once we dig through all the parts that came with it.

Thanks!

Ken

Ken, check Ebay, I saw one full quarter panel on there is the last week, probably closer to you than I am. If your tail light area is ok, and the supports under the trunk are ok,  you should be able to get by with replacing part of the trunk floor. And if the front of your quarter panels are good, you should be able to get someone to ship you the part behind the wheelwell. I don't want to cut-up my complete rear clip at this time, but start checking Ebay and Craigslist and you should find what you need. Have fun with the restoration.

Price dropped to $750, any takers? I will be posting it on V8Buick shortly in an attempt to move it out of here. I need a new compressor and this rear clip can help pay for it.

Somebody must want this rear clip. Doesn't anyone want to back-half a 65? I hate to cut it up, but I would really like to get it out of my shop area.

ok understand. was looking for a really good set for restoration (have 4 sets I accumulate over the years but just one set that I like).
Anyone looking for tail lights in the usual condition (some pitting and cracks and some ageing cracks for the lenses)? just let me know.

Hi Loren,

I am surprised that someone with a pickup or a trailer hasn't been going east from here that would want if or who could haul if for a friend. Rear quarter rust is an issue here, but nothing like what I have seen in pictures from the rust-belt. I guess I should list it on Craigslist and see if I have any takers, but getting rid of it hasn't been a big issue for me. I know as soon as I sell it I am going to find a nice GS that needs it. For now it will sit in my trailer until I can figure out how to unload it and store it on the ground.

The rear clip is still sitting in my trailer in sunny California. I am going to die of old age before that thing leaves my shop area.
