Hard top panels on a sedan door?
« on: January 07, 2021, 07:31:46 PM »
I was comparing the door panel on my 1965 Skylark convertible with the two door sedan door and panel, seems the convertible/hardtop panel would fit on the sedan door. Am I missing something? This is for my Bucamino, so there will be no back panel to worry about.....

Yes it will fit . The top area of the doors are shaped the same. If I recall correctly , the top rear corner of the panel may need to be modified for the window frame.
I have a sedan that a previous owner had installed  Skylark door panels in. It worked and looked fine, just wasn't correct for the sedan body. I've often thought that you could go the other way.  It would be easy to install the hardtop panels in a sedan , but use the upper trim that the sedan has so the panel wouldn't wrap up to the window.

Thanks, Loren. I think the hardtop panels make sense considering I am installing a padded dash and probably Skylark seat covers. And I will probably use paddle door levers.

  Kurt,

That sounds like it will turn out nicely.  If I may recommend seat covers, I like the quality and fit of Legendary's.  Just my $.02.
