Correct accelerator pedal
« on: September 04, 2020, 09:24:12 AM »
Does anyone know where to purchase a correct accel pedal for a '65 Skylark? I bought one from Legendary Auto Interiors and the holes where it snaps on are two far apart. on the old original pedal the holes are 2-1/4" and the holes on the new one are at about 3/16" wider which caused the rubber to split when I tried to attach it.

Fusick makes a good looking reproduction. (Re: Correct accelerator pedal)

Dear EZ Cool and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Does anyone know where to purchase a correct accel pedal for a '65 Skylark? I bought one from Legendary Auto Interiors and the holes where it snaps on are two far apart. on the old original pedal the holes are 2-1/4" and the holes on the new one are at about 3/16" wider which caused the rubber to split when I tried to attach it.

You can get one from OPGI that fits but isn't really correct:

https://www.opgi.com/interior-accessories/pedal-pads/1964-72-accelerator-pedal-pads1/pad-pedal-1964-67-chevelleel-caminoskylark1964-65-gto-accelerator-pz00011.html

I assume this is the Chevy model, but don't know for sure.  Fusick makes a pedal that they claim is correct for Buick and Olds:

I have it, it looks very close to the prototype, and the spacing for the holes is correct.  I never have had the chance to put it on though.  Has anyone else installed this pedal to confirm that it fits?
