Rear hood bumper

Hey guys, I put this new rubber bumper at the back of the hood where it meets the cowl. The edges are much better aligned with the fenders. However, The middle of the hood is now way too high!
Will the rubber break in or is there some other trick I don't know about?

The weather strip itself might be a little thick in the middle!? Hot days and opening and closing hoods and doors etc usually help with the fit! Is your cowl vent cover sitting down good also!?
