Sealing Convertible Header
« on: April 23, 2020, 08:09:55 PM »
For those of you that have restored a Skylark convertible, can you share what is the proper way to seal the stainless header that screws into the top of the windshield?  When I disassembled mine, it appeared to have some strip caulk in the area of the visor mounts, but that was about it.  I assume the sealing is desirable around the visor mount and maybe at the seam where the chrome end caps meet the header.  Should I put strip caulk across the entire length of the header?

Any advice/experience is appreciated!
