Lucky Day for me.....maybe?
« on: December 20, 2019, 03:10:32 PM »
A few days ago I was digging through the floorboard of a project car that's been in my garage for about 10 years or more.

Well I had traded a passenger side 1965 Sportwagon quarter panel for some a/c delete plates. Or I guess they are called prep plates. I thought I only had 3 if the set of 4. Well I found the last one that was covered up.

The rest of the week has been horrible but that was the high point.

Brian.

Yepp he contacted me while ago about them. I have a car that these are for.........prior I could only find 3 of the pieces in that  car. I figured I only got those in the trade years ago.

In hindsight I "needed" that Sportwagon quarter panel but "wanted " these delete plates more.

Those could be copied! The bead roll would be the hardest to reproduce  accurately! The pieces could be lazer or water jet cut!

I was thinking that but don't have the patience or for the option of someone else making them I don't have the funds.

I'm sure a very limited market for these.

Dear Brian, Jon, Walt, Dan, and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

A few days ago I was digging through the floorboard of a project car that's been in my garage for about 10 years or more.

Well I had traded a passenger side 1965 Sportwagon quarter panel for some a/c delete plates. Or I guess they are called prep plates. I thought I only had 3 if the set of 4. Well I found the last one that was covered up.

I'm glad that you ultimately were able to recover what you were seeking from your cornucopia of old parts!

The rest of the week has been horrible but that was the high point.

Sorry to hear that you also had a bad week.  We took several nasty blows starting Sunday night but everything is either under control or back on the mend.  Murphy's law most definitely doesn't take any time off for the holidays.

Hang in there pal! :icon_thumright:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

I'd pay dearly even for a partial set of these.  might even trade some of my super awesome rare parts.

I checked on some Olds and Pontiac forums and these would actually sell quite well if repros were available. i'd pay you for tracings of the panels on heavy paper because that would be enough for me to have a set made. I have a panel already for the cowl where the blower hole is. I bought a reproduction one

Glad you were able to find all 4 panels, I know you were concerned you'd lost one of them.
