Vintage swamp (evaporative) cooler for automobiles on eBay.

Dear mid-60s Buick caregivers,

I don't think anyone on this forum would be jumping at an item like this but there is a Vintage swamp (evaporative) cooler that mounts in the window of a car on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-KOOLAIR-CAR-SWAMP-COOLER-BY-THERMADOR/274083691151

Here is a picture of the cooler installed on a vintage car from the ad:

It is the cylinder mounted on the rear window behind the door on the passenger side.

If you have never seen one of these things they are really funky, but in a dry region, they are presumably such as effective as the swamp coolers used to cool structures.

Enjoy the snippet of history!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Hi,

Neat find, a friend of mine has one on his 39 Chevy truck, funny thing a few years ago we parked next to one another at Back to the Bricks show and looked at it and found a really old mouse, good thing he only puts it up for showing the truck.

Cheers,
Jim
