Dear red65gs and mid-60s Buick caregivers,
Since this is your first posting it seems like as good an excuse as any to welcome you to 65GS.com!
I was able to buy this car and decided to save it. It seems to be the real deal LR matching VIN engine.
Let me thank you for your decision to preserve this rare car!
Lots and lots of metal work to be done, very close to the rustiest car if not the rustiest, I've worked on. Never owned a 3 speed before but had a couple of 4 speed cars. The frame is gone so I'll have to find a convertible frame. Seems like a good one to save since there were so few made. Love that Astro blue poly. I'll post progress as I'm able. Sure would like to know what the "star" after the paint code stands for. Could it be the star shaped headliner option vs tier or basketweave? Someone has to know.
Since it sounds like you have a long project ahead of you, you will be well served to start a new thread in the restorations topic. Here is the link to that topic:

Once more welcome and thank you!
Cheers, Edouard
