Heading down to a Texas pan handle
« on: May 19, 2019, 07:34:08 AM »
We are heading down to the pan handle here soon! Looking for old car salvage yards to hit along the way!
So far have 5 or 6 possibilities! Guys at v8 had some good places to stop! Heading down through St. Louis
To Joplin then over to Tulsa then down to Oklahoma City! We will have a empty trailer on the way down!

D-I-L is in Miller, Mo. (Springfield area). We travel down 64 and theres several yards along the way, but its the interstate and you need to backtrack the frontage road.  Take some binoculars with! Always look behind old barns and rust piles on the farms! Be safe and bring a banjo along!   Bill

So the southwest trip was great ! Nice weather only rained one night! We did have to make four detours as there were washed out roads, bridges and water over the roads! Stopped in Oklahoma for bbq and saw the dealerships hit by the tornado! What a disaster! Even found a yard with some GS's! Here is a Buick camper ! A 56 special I believe? For your summer travels! Also a very rare wagon! Some of you heading to Oklahoma City for the nats mite get to see this one! We drove some of Route 66 also and saw many cool old stations, hotels, dealerships etc.
