Heater and a/c instructions
« on: February 14, 2019, 10:39:57 PM »
Saw this instruction tag on EBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-65-66-67-Buick-Special-All-Weather-Climate-Control-Tag-1367763/292954082159?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Is this correct for 1965?
If so, did on come on just a/c cars or was it also used on heater-only cars?

Thanks for any info.

Never seen one of those, but it looks to be for A/C only cars.  The instructions apply to the 64-65 special/skylark/GS since the controls are the same.  66-67 the fan control moved to the left and operates vertically, so instructions would not be quite correct for the 66-67 cars.  Are you the one that bought it?  If so--maybe you can help us get a batch of them reproduced?

I think I have one of those ? Maybe same part#? Plus maybe one for the corner dash vents ( eyeballs as my one buddy says!) I will see if I can find them! They also had starting tags and some others!

The one Dan shows says special on the back too!? They would have different ones for different series! It would be nice if we could track these down and have copies made! I don't  have the starting tag anymore or the A.C Tag as I sold those! The A/C I have is for Electra I think? or Rivera? But the outlet tags are correct one is a earlier version as they are different!

Yes, I bought the one on eBay.

Were there any tags on heater only cars? Any other tags were should look into having made?

I can look into having these made.

Dan,

No tags that I know of, but there were several small inspection labels on the heater boxes.
I have pics of the originals, but they are prints from the mid-90s I would have to find them.

Spoke with Gene (of Gene's Buick Parts), and spoke to him about this project - since he sells the '67 version.

To even submit this to GM/Buick for licensing approval is $300, and they might not even approve it... :(

So, does anyone think they can make these?  Anyone have good Photoshop skills to clean up the image?  Anyone ever seen those brownish hole "reinforcers" in the store?

Open to ideas and/or volunteers lol.

Mark - those labels are interesting!

Again, the heater cars didn't have an instruction tag?

THANKS!

Dan,

I can't say about the availability of the paper tags themselves, but I could easily recreate the copy/graphics.
I just don't want to get in any legal trouble for doing it...
