Nuclear accelerator
« on: January 31, 2019, 09:55:00 PM »
Well, we are smashing fuel atoms and I need the control mechanism for the collider. I am re powering the 64 with a 1974 455 and a 4 speed. Id really like to get rid of the control rod accelerator pedal and go with, I believe, a 1967(?) or 1968 (!) cable unit. This is the cantilever wall mounted pedal driving a cable with a bracket on the intake manifold to a quadrajet.

I need the whole shootin' match, bushings, bulkhead connector etc minus the automatic kick down switch. GM started using this is 1967 or 1968. Itll need to come off a 400-430-455 manifold and be a slightly longer cable than a 350. Probably anything up to about 1975 will work from an A body. Thoughts or ideas are welcome.  please advise! for Buick the cable started in 68. I greatly prefer the 64-67 style as it affords more adjustment and fine tuning capability

Yeah... I guess I can be period correct with a safety chain or a turnbuckle. Maybe I was just overthinking this... ws
