Dear Bill and 65GS.com community,

THIS IS A SHIPPING UPDATE!! This morning, Pat my Significant Other experienced multiple symptoms resembling those of a stroke. Due to insurance change-overs at the first of the year, and a change in other meds, she was overcome with the stroke-like reactions resulting with the entire day spent at the emergency walk-in and then to the ER at the hospital. Tons of lab and CT scans proved she was somewhat OK, but they did recommend checking in with a neurologist. After a 3 hour I-V cocktail of the good stuff, she was release to go home and bed rest the remainder of today.

By all means health always come first.  So sorry you and Pat went through that ordeal.  We had a similar scenario at this house not that long ago and the stress of the unknown was ultimately much worse than what the health issues turned out to be.  I hope both of you can take some time to recoup!

So we are getting back to normal... kind of! Anyway, while taking the special apart, Im getting close to scrapping some stuff. Best offer plus shipping, on 2 455 intakes. One is 1973 and one is 1974. A pair of 1974 455 heads, condition unknown, and the "Buick Syncromesh" three speed manual with all the tree shifting linkage, again, a 33,000 mile unit that was gramma driven, condition unknown. Also is the V6 specific flywheel, OEM clutch plate,pressure plate and throw UP(!) bearing, the starter (as a core) and what ever anyone else needs. How about the cam chain tensioners? 

The 3 speed is still under the car and will probably be out tomorrow. Last call...    ws

Thanks for taking the time to take the "blow-by-blow" pictures and sharing them with us.  I've seen the empty engine bay of my trusty wagon more than I ever want to remember, but even so every car is a bit different and you learn things seeing how they were put together.  Your car is indeed in great shape to get a super-sized power plant!

Im a picture taking fool (the films' free LOL) and the comments are just the humor of it. Its good to have a following and its not my intent to bore anyone. AND if anyone ever wants to inject some left handed humor, thats fine with me too.

Well not quite.  You do pay something for storage, but certainly it is dirt cheap comparing to da' ol' days when you would take a picture and would have to wait days if not weeks to find out if it turned out.

Instant pictures is one of those things we now take for granted - how did we live without it?

Not to mention picking out a negative, then sending that back for an 8x10 print, PLUS your own storage files, and not being able to share on da' web.  I remember buying a Model T Ford when I was a kid. Saw the ad in Hemmings which entailed snail mail and a bunch of Polaroids from Tulsa to Chicago. Turns out the car was found in a dry river bed, but we took it anyway.  ws

Scrap prices go up and down. Transmissions need to be disassembled and aluminum separated. I break everything down and separate the metals.
I do ok when i take stuff in.

I got 6 cents/lb two months ago..... $54 for 900 lbs of misc rusty stuff.
If you separate the materials, cast iron and alum will fetch higher prices.

It was a neat experience as there was so much cool stuff there that I wanted to bring back home!
Still kicking myself for not bringing back a neat 1950's Craftsman band saw.

I am more than capable of knocking everything down to the last dowel pin, but at say, 10 hours (being optimistic!) and netting an extra 100.00, that puts my time at 10.00/hr not including "consumables" i.e. heat and electric and bandaids! I was just glad to help some guys out, then toss the rest. At least it was only 5.00 in gas to run over there LOL...

Walt... you shoulda bought that saw! Probably the only plastic on it was the on-off switch knob!   ws
