« on: December 13, 2018, 07:04:24 PM »
is anybody reproducing the little arm for the rear carb on dual quads? it's the piece that the throttle rod between front and rear carb connects to

Bob, I have successfully made one before, but you will need another Buick AFB carb to get the ball stud off the arm.  You will also need an original for a pattern.  You can then cut out the sheetmetal piece from some of the metal on the donor arm, make the rivet on a lathe, then install the ball stud.  You have to grind the brad off the back of the ball stud to remove from the donor, then you can put a quick ball of weld on the back to hold it once it is in the new arm.

I looked and the only one I saw was the linkage rod with the turn buckles and I have already bought that one.

When do you need it?

I'll be pulling my 2x4 and will be able to remove the bellcrank and make several.
I will also make a detailed drawing with all measurements, hole sizes, and post for anyone that wants to make their own.

(started to pull the bellcrank to make a drawing and cut you one, but the back of the allen bolt holding it on is cross cut and splayed on the back and I cannot get to it to grind off the back side of the bolt to remove with the carbs mounted.)

OK.
I should be able to get to it sometime this week/weekend.

My cousin has a laser cutter so I may have him make a run of them.

But I can fashion a few. I have some steel that is about 14 ga.

I'll followup on information as I go. :)

Thank you sir, i'm in no hurry, just trying to plan far in advance. if I could find an original rear dual 4 carb from 65-66 i'd just buy that
