Mychanic Detailing Rig available at a discount at Costco

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who must have their cars perfectly detailed,

If you saw the Stacey's David's Gearz episode that featured TA-Performance parts (as mentioned in this thread:)

http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,3956.msg28230.html#msg28230

You might have noticed a detailing rig as one of the new products highlighted at the end of the episode.  If you missed that episode, supposedly you can view it online:

https://staceydavid.com/gearztv/episodes/

The episode was called "Big Bad Buick" and was episode-7 of the current (12th) season.

I took some note of it, but wasn't interested enough to actually buy one of my own.  It is called a "Mychanic Detailing Rig" and there is more information about it on the Mychanic website:

https://mychanic.com/products/detailing-rig

Much to my surprise, I ended up receiving one as a gift.  I can attest it is reasonably well made and assembles easily with the usual tools any car guy would possess.  It has a bucket with a grit guard so it has what are the standard requirements for washing a car these days.  The bucket can be removed to provide more space for your waxing equipment.  I have used it to wash two cars and I do find it to be a helpful convenience.  I suspect it would be even more useful for waxing.  The reviews on the Mychanic site are amazing (perhaps to the point of suspicion.)  Nonetheless they claim to have a patent on the design, so it must have some a novel features. As such, you would not be able to buy something exactly like it from another vendor.  I do have some pictures.  Here is one side:

As you can see it has locations were you can hang spray bottles by the trigger and there is a tray under the seat for additional items.  Here is a view of the bucket end of the cart:

The bucket fits on exactly the same sized tray as under the seat.

Here is the other side with the cup holder:

Finally, here is the area under the seat:

I noticed only two potential concerns.  The casters have no sort of lock.  On flat ground they provide enough resistance to keep the cart where you left it.  However, that doesn't appear to be true if there is any sort of slope.  The other potential annoyance is that there is no handle for the bucket.  However, since the bucket would rolled most of the time, perhaps a handle would be more of an obstruction than aid.

As you can see on the company website above, Mychanic wants $90 if you buy it directly from them.  The best deal you'll find on Amazon is a tad over $70:

eBay has comparable prices.

Costco is selling them for $60, shipping is included in that price, and Costco does not appear to be requiring a membership to get that price:

Moreover, there are already 5 reviews and they too are all 5 stars.  So even regular customers seem to be happy with it.  So if a detailing rig like this might be a useful addition to your auto detailing tools, you can certainly pick one up at an attractive price from Costco online.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Dear mid-60s Buick owners with backs that also have a few years on them,

As I mentioned in my first posting about the Mychanic Detailing Rig, I received it as a gift.  I didn't mention that it was from my sister who suffers from chronic back pain.  As a result, guess who ends up washing her car!  I had to wash her car again today and while it was just a quick wash, I did appreciate being able to roll the bucket around instead of having to pick it up over and over.  I only have 3 cars to keep clean, many of you have more than twice that!  So if your back has lost its enthusiasm for picking up wash buckets all the time, the Mychanic Detailing Rig is still available at Costco online for $59.99:
