Spark plug questions
« on: July 09, 2018, 10:50:06 PM »
Are you guys running the stock heat range spark plugs ?  And does anyone know what determines those heat range numbers ? ( carburation , comp , etc )
I,d like to round up as many of the small things as possible for the dyno session .

John,

When I ordered my cam .500/.510 270 something Deg. duration from Carmen Fasco he recommended using a colder plug based on the cam change. We also bumped the compression slightly by milling the heads .040". Have had great results with the colder plug. Put an MSD 6AL  on and then was able to open the plug gap up wider. As I always state I'm not an engineer but i know has worked and not worked for me over the last 20 something years.
