Protect-O-Plate Decoding

I am hoping to learn a little more about my GS from the Protect-O-Plate.  Can anyone point me in a direction to decode the following on the Protect-O-Plate:

R598
K231
40 U63 C14 C60

Can't help with answering your question, but wanted to share that my GS was sold by the same dealership in Washington DC. Does your car have the dealer emblem on the trunk lid?

I have the p-o-p plate decoder in the Gallery, page 2 in the 'Literature' section:

R598 is the engine production code.   R is for LR or GS 401, 598 is kind of a production number, it was assembled on the 598th shift of the model year.
N40= Power steering
U63= Radio, Sonomatic
C14= 2 speed wipers
C60= Air conditioning

Since air conditioning is not identified on my I.D. Plate, but is identified on the Protect-O-Plate, were these options dealer installed?

It's factory installed. There was another Buick memo saying dealer installed AC was not available due to the complexities of the new GS. I'll have to check to see if it was only for a limited time, or the whole production year.
The Baltimore plant put very little option information on the cowl data plate. There would be a '4S' on there for the GS option, but little else. Fremont didn't show any option codes, but Flint and Kansas city showed many codes.
There is usually a body build sheet stuffed into the springs of the rear seat cushion, take a look!

Great work Walt. Had forgotten about that P-O-P decoder in the Gallery. Have never seen a Baltimore built 1965 Gran Sport with any codes other than the S code to signify its a GS. Has anyone seen one with additional codes ?

Marty, as I told you, the guys on this site will have answers to your questions. I noticed the codes on the copy of the protect-O-Plate pictures you sent me, but did not have a breakdown on the codes.
