New reproduction stereo model from Custom Autosound
« on: March 05, 2018, 06:44:36 PM »
Dear mid-60s Buick owners who like to hear da' beat . . . . .

It appears that Custom Autosound has a new stereo model in the pipeline - the model 740:

http://customautosoundmfg.com/product/custom-in-dash-radios/usa-740

It appears to be in response to their competitors who have stereos with built-in Bluetooth.  It doesn't appear to be available yet as retailers aren't listing them yet.  The details are a bit sketchy as well on the website.  It certainly has a very different and more austere look.  That will help it fit and look decent in a wider range of classic cars, but it might make the stereo harder to use.

FYI . . . . . . . . . .

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

P.S. Custom Autosound has revamped their website and changed their URL.  If you have a bookmark for these folks you might want to change it to:  www.customautosoundmfg.com

Dear Dwaine and mid-60s Buick owners who are audiophiles,

Had my radio converted by http://www.turnswitch.com/radio1.htm. Haven't installed yet but it sure looks good.

I agree that these are very interesting.  The only drawback that I'm aware of is that they are difficult to control because the original OEM radio wasn't designed for the functionality.  So how to switch between the various audio modes with this particular conversion?

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

I am very interested to hear how you like it.  I may do mine as well.  The conversion you chose appears very easy to use which is a plus.
