BE CAREFUL!
I live near Jackson, MI and have visited this person's shop. I've looked over all of his 65 Skylark/GS stuff. The reason I say be careful is that some of his stuff is NOS and some has been restored by him. And some of the restorations are not quite up to par. I've had the pair of ventiports in my hands and if they had both been NOS, I would have bought them. But only one is NOS and it's a nice piece. The other one has been restored by him years ago. The pot metal was replated and looks pretty nice, but the inserts were coated with something that does not look good. Kind of looks like a clearcoat that yellowed. The difference doesn't show up well in the pictures. You can tell which piece is NOS by looking at the picture of the back sides. Note that one has the original swaging of the inserts into the pot metal housing. On the other, the inserts have been glued into the housing.
I believe his emblems that were restored he had replated by a local shop years ago, that' no longer in business. And he hand painted the red onto them. In my opinion, if you have emblems that have good looking chrome, you're better off to send them to Loren and have his friend recolor them. But if you don't have emblems with nice chrome, perhaps these would do or buy reproductions instead. He does have some original stuff and, as you've noted, he has pretty high prices on everything.
I might be going over there again soon. He has an item that I'm on the fence about. If I do, I'll have another look at his stuff and report back more details on what he has. Oh, and by the way, he has a shop full of mostly trim parts for just about any classic car out there. So if you have needs for other brands, let me know and I can check out your needs with him.
Have a great week!
