I love the 69 Riviera!! 430 4bbl. TH400-X frame. I remember doing all five u-joints on the driveshaft!!!

I had a 68 back in the 80's. I loved it!! only a few subtle differences between the two years.
The road salt ruined my car...…

This is my next restoration. A 61,000 mile,  1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
I wanted the 77 Regal, but I knew I would not have sold it, when through...

Dear David, Jim, and mid-60s Buick owners who love all da' classics!

This is my next restoration. A 61,000 mile,  1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
I wanted the 77 Regal, but I knew I would not have sold it, when through...

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your next restoration David!  You make a good point.  If you are going to restore a car to sell it, it is best not to acquire one that you won't be willing to sell in the end!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Ok , how about this for a pick-me-up. Nothing better than getting Married and driving Buick's all in the same day ! That's Karen & I sitting in the back seat of my GS on our wedding day way back on a HOT August day in 1996 in Rosedale  Queens NYC. :laughing7: We did not use Limo's to transport the bridal party and Parents around,  I had my Friends bring there Vintage Buick's. Like a Buick show and a wedding at the same time.  That's also My 69 Riviera behind the GS. There was another photo showing the church parking lot full of vintage Buick's but i can't find it. if i do i will post it.

A Valiant wagon! (Re: Da' Classic car pic' pick-me-up!)

Dear mid-60s Buick owners with d'em Wintertime blues . . . .

It's been a few days since some fresh pics have been posted to this topic so I'll offer up another example of a classic from the 1960s - a Valiant wagon!

This specimen is clearly original and a bit weary, but still soldiering on.  I don't know the year - can somebody figure that out?  Here is the back:

Clearly this is a budget model with the manual tailgate window crank.  Still everything is together considering the car's age.  Here is the interior:

The aftermarket seat-covers brought back memories of Biquette's seats having similar covers to hide worn out upholstery.  It's not a Buick, but it is a classic car with a story and should bring some memories for many of us.

Anyone else got a classic car picture squirreled away that they would like to share?

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

I took my driving test, way back in 1977, in my Dad's 1967 Plymouth Valiant. 2-door post, Slant Six automatic, no power steering or brakes. Car is still in my neighborhood, we gave to a friend of ours as a project to get running with his 12 year old son. I need to find out how they are doing with it.

Looking for photos to post, along with photos of the 1960 Rambler Super that my Mom learned to drive in back in 1965. Just got rid of that car a few months ago. And a 1972 Chevy Suburban that my sister rescued from my Dad's garage and got running again as a tribute to him (he just recently passed back in February, so we've been doing a bit of clean-up around the house for my Mom).

Dear Keith and 65GS.com strollers down memory lane,

Thanks for sharing your memories of cars you have driven or been involved with.  This time of year has also jogged some fresh memories of my trusty wagon and my family.  I'm glad that cars and family are still going strong for you!  I do hope you manage to uncover some photos of the cars you remember!  :angel4:

Back in my the 70’s my best bud had a ‘63 valiant wagon with the slant 6 and, get this, a factory floor shifted three speed manual trans. It was by far the ugliest car of anyone in our group and the subject of many jokes. When we referred to it’s lazy 6 he would remind us that it had a “leaning tower of power” instead. As ugly as it was it was the most reliable ride in our circle of misfits and the one we would all pile in when we had neighborhoods to terrorize. Thanks for helping bring back some fond memories.

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who suffer from d'em wintertime blues . . . . .

Sorry, it has almost been a month since I "restocked" this thread.  One of the crew at Orinda Classic Car was out with a knee replacement so I wasn't able to give him his Christmas card until today.  So I suppose it is appropriate that I snapped this belated scene in front of Orinda Motors:

Apparently the owners of this truck had grander plans in terms of Christmas decorations.  They had a string of Christmas lights that plugged into the cigarette lighter, but they never got around to putting them on the outside of the truck.

As always, contributions to this thread are always solicited.  My trusty wagon did her duty hauling 110 pounds of bird seed and on the way we encountered not 1 but 2 classics: a smallish British-styled sports car and a 1950s Chevy pickup.  However, Northern California is supposed to be in for an extended period of rain.  So classic cars will be waiting out the weather for at least all of next week.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Very nice Tony! We had car wedding too but had to use our Coronet R/T as the wedding since someone knocked the rear end of the 66 GS at the time. Other wedding lineup cars were 68 SS 396 Chevelle, 65 GTO, 66 Impala, 69 6 pack Super Bee, 57 Corvette. Others joined in too on the through town procession.

We had a fun time in Florida a couple of weeks ago. My head was spinning with so many beautiful vintage cars to see.
We spent a few hours at Muscle Car City. It was the last Saturday of our stay, but what a bonus day. Not only was there a great indoor display, but there was also an outdoor show.
The indoor display at Muscle Car City is one mans personal collection. It comprises primarily of Chevrolets with a few other marques as well. Unfortunately, not a Buick in the lot. His collection of Corvettes starts with a 1954 and runs consecutively into the '80s. Every vehicle on display was show car condition.
