Walt!  I think you steered me to the 442 page here regarding the stripe kit. 
I downloaded the instructions for the Olds and had thoughts about a removable version for my 65.

Looks like the stripes  on my car, like my hair and stomach, have fallen to the side and hang much lower.

Hi Everyone  Yes Dan I do have what appears to be an original 2 page copy dated March 31 1965 titled To: all Buick dealers"Rally striped for action." Showing 3 views of the GS with stripes and the tri shield on both doors. The second page says that rally stripes will call attention to the GS and will increase sales and gives the address where the stripe kit could be purchased.

   I will take a photo of the pages and post it for everyone to see.    Tony

Neat information. I saw a green 65 GS years ago with red stripes but they were on the side like Arctic Fox?s car.
