Dear mid-60s Buick owners who make that monthly pilgrimage to Costco,

For those of you who didn't notice, Battery Tender is launching an new product and has a really killer deal at Costco.  The new charger is called the Battery Tender Plus 3 Amp chargers (Product numbers: 022-0202-COS)  This link should bring you it (it will be the first item in the returned searches: )

http://www.batterytender.com/search?q=022-0202-COS

You'll note the retail price of $74.95!

Amazon also sells it as a significant discount:

http://a.co/cAgy2Yi

Amazon only charges $46.99.  However, what does Costco charge?  Well look for yourself!

https://www.costco.com/Battery-Tender-Power-Plus-3-Amp-Charger.product.100241973.html

From November 17 through the 27, it is only $29.99 and free shipping!  So if you need a trickle charger or need to upgrade your trickle charger - this would be a good time to buy!  However, there is a limit of only 3 per customer!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

P.S. Want to beat the crowd?  Then order your charger before I spread the word to those owners of less mature Buicks on the V-8 Buick forum.  I'm giving you guys a 24 hour head start!

P.P.S. So did I order one for myself?    Of course!! Earlier this afternoon!

Great deal on LED shop lights as well. (Re: Costco members)

Dear mid-60s Buick owners with "bright ideas," . . . .  :idea1:

Walt mentioned on V-8 Buick that there was a rumor of Felt Electric LED shop lights being on sale at Costco.  It turned to be a sale that only starts on December first.  They are in the flyer for December but aren't listed on the Costco website at the moment.  The Costco item number is: 689518.  The regular price is $27.99 and they are on sale for $19.99.  That's 8 dollars or almost a 29% discount - quite a deal.  These are the lights I used to upgrade the lighting in our garage as described in this thread:

http://65gs.com/board/index.php?topic=3448.msg24018#msg24018

This sale is for Costco members only, but if you need enough of them, you can probably pay for the membership just on the light purchase alone!  They are available at Costco online, so you don't need to visit a warehouse to buy them.

Cheers, Edouard

Sale is now active!
$39.99 for a 2 pack of 4 ft lights.
Free shipping, Non-members pay a 5% upcharge.
These are ideal for replacing old fluorescent lights that don't like a cold garage.

Dear Walt and mid-60s Buick owners seeking bargains,

Yes I saw this as well, but there is an odd wrinkle to it.  If the sale on single units starts on Friday as advertised, 2 x $19.99 is $39.98!  It appears somebody at Costco didn't bother to think through the math.  I suppose few people will notice, but it is something of a faux pas for an outfit that so prides itself on providing the best value for their members.

Cheers, Edouard

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who need to be charged up every now and then,

My Costco purchased 3 amp battery charger arrived via UPS today.  Here is a photo of the new model:

It uses the same housing as their 1-1/2 amp model that I use for our 2000 Buick Century.  3 amps is probably overkill for my trusty wagon, but you can't beat the price.  So if anybody might need one of these chargers after all, you might still find some at your local Costco.  They aren't listed on the Costco website anymore.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Costco pulls something of a fast one. (Re: Great deal on LED shop lights?)

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who appreciate a bargain,

Dear Walt and mid-60s Buick owners seeking bargains,

It is now December first and I was very curious to see what Costco would do with their conflicting advertised sales.  The resolution wasn't what I expected and is a bit dishonest.  If you do a search for the item number for what is described in the December sales flyer as a single LED worklight (689518,) what comes up is the two-pack.  So Costco isn't honoring their sales flyer exactly - your only choice is purchase these lights in two-packs.

Perhaps there was a mix-up between Costco and Feit Electric, but after all, Costco shoppers expect to buy in bulk - so why didn't Costco plan in advance to only sell this product in a two-pack?  I think this is simply another confirmation of something we are all too well aware of - we continue to find ourselves in desperately lean economic times.

Oh well, . . . . Edouard

The online sale on the LED lights has ended.... they sold out!
Might still be available in your local store until Dec 24th.

The 3 amp battery tender I ordered from Costco was shipped today from Florida.
I also bought two of the 3/4 amp models from Home Depot @ $19.99 each.

New model tested just fine. (Re: Great deal on a Battery Tender charger?)

Dear Walt and mid-60s Buick owners always seeking a good bargain,

The online sale on the LED lights has ended.... they sold out!
Might still be available in your local store until Dec 24th.

I hope everyone on 65GS.com who wanted one got theirs before they sold out!

The 3 amp battery tender I ordered from Costco was shipped today from Florida.

With my wagon still laid up, I ran a test on the 3 amp model to recharge our 2000 Buick Century battery.  It functions just like any other Battery Tender model.  It defaults to 12 volts, so you don't need to even fuss with the voltage setting.  So if anyone else is waiting, be patient, it will be worth the wait!  :hello2:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who make that monthly pilgrimage to Costco,

. . . . Just when you thought it was safe to return to Costco, look what is coming back from da' dead . . . . . . .

Okay all Halloween silliness aside,   Just like last year, Costco has these 3 Amp Battery Tender chargers on sale at the really good price of $29.99 with free shipping.  Here is the link:

https://www.costco.com/.product.100241973.html

If you want one you should probably order it ASAP.  Last year they sold out of these.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

P.S. As long as I'm posting, I have a 1 amp Battery Tender for our 2000 Buick Century.  Is there any reason to upgrade to 3 amp charger?

They're B-B-BACK!!! #2 (Re: Great deal on a Battery Tender charger?)

Dear mid-60s Buick owners who make that monthly pilgrimage to Costco,

It's been a while but Costco has arranged another special purchase opportunity on the 3 amp Battery Tender trickle chargers:

https://www.costco.com/battery-tender-power-plus-3-amp-charger.product.100241973.html

Biquette has had her Battery Tender charger for 2-1/2 years now.  It has survived at least 2 "Public Safety Power Shutoffs" (PSPS to those Californians who know the technical jargon) and one unplanned power outage when a transformer exploded in a nearby down.  It continues to work perfectly.

The discount is the same as in October 2018 and anyone can purchase these, you don't have to be a Costco member.  However, it is a bit more expensive since shipping is now $2.99 and the sale is only for one week - ending March 6th.

So if you need one, this is definitely an opportunity!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:
