Is this the right kit?
If not, any direction?

If you are looking for trim hardware for a '64 or '65 Skylark or Gran Sport. NO !
The mounting hardware is much different then what Year-One is selling. It is also different for the Skylark "Halo" trim and the Gran Sport trim.

OK....
Has anyone used anything readily available to install the GS vinyl top trim on a car not previously equipped ??
Need not be restoration correct, just functional

I haven't ordered these yet, but I think they would work for the side pieces.
The side trim uses push in clips because there is no way to access the back of the sail panel to get nuts on studs.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-pcs-steel-push-in-trim-clips-for-1-2-3-4-wide-moulding/202117361325?hash=item2f0f222ead:g:kZQAAOSwVqlaDzph&vxp=mtr
If I recall correctly, the ones across the back have threaded clips that used the stamped tin nuts with a sealer on the inside.
I will look for a picture of the original side molding clips.
It has been a long time since I put my trim on.
