Part identification help - A/C part?
« on: October 14, 2017, 01:19:54 AM »
No clue what this is, or what it fits.

Hard rubber. Has # 1373756 stamped on the part. Has a tag on it with group # 9.798.

Any idea?  Thanks!

Hey Dan,

I don't think that's an A/C part.  I'm retrofitting factory A/C into my restoration and I haven't run across that part in the A/C system or anywhere else.  But I could be wrong and would be happy to learn the correct answer.

Interesting, Jon.  Any idea if this was part of a different A/C system that perhaps was used later in the model year, as indicated by "2nd type"?  And does 3000/4000 refer to car models?  Skylark would be part of the 4000 series?  Am I reading this all wrong???  It has me really curious!

That is the vacuum hose connector that connects to the vacuum control switch on the heater/AC control in the dash.

Thanks Brian, that explains it.  I haven't taken the hoses off the back of the control, so that part didn't look familiar.

OK, question answered, all return to enjoying your weekend!
