65 Sport Wagon at Mecum Chicago
« on: September 26, 2017, 11:07:29 AM »
I am going to the Mecum auction in Chicago next week and i was looking through the lots and saw a pretty cool looking wagon.   Looks pretty original.  Shows some wear but nothing too ugly.   Or maybe a very old restoration.    Anyone want me to grab it for them? :icon_thumright:

Nothing in particular.  A client and I were looking for a way to celebrate a recent victory and we are both into cars so it seemed like a good idea and it's drive-able.  I'll bring my check book but it would take a real steal for me to jump on something.

That is a good looking car.  Unusual to find a sportwagon without factory A/C on it, but in MN, it won't be a problem.  That one also has the 4bbl. high-compression engine in it, so that is a big plus.  Big difference in how that runs compared to the 2bbl version.  I happen to know that the youngest member of the Ascher family had a keen interest in the mid-60s Buick wagons when he was at the 2016 BCA nationals with us back in July.

Dear Rob, Jim, Brian, and mid-60s Buick long-roof fans,

I am going to the Mecum auction in Chicago next week and i was looking through the lots and saw a pretty cool looking wagon.   Looks pretty original.  Shows some wear but nothing too ugly.   Or maybe a very old restoration.    Anyone want me to grab it for them? :icon_thumright:

Given my well-known love of wagons  :love4:  this is terribly unfair! :angryfire:  The link doesn't work anymore!  :BangHead:  Instead it is giving me a 404 page not found error.  Could it be that this wagon has been sold before the auction?

A curious mind would like to know!

Cheers, Edouard

It appears to be have been pulled from the Mecum site. Guessing it’s sold before the auction.
