I understand why you're tempted.  Good thing for me that it's across the country  :icon_thumright:  Looks like a nice project car.  The big question is how many of the "little things" are missing to do a complete restoration.  Moldings, interior, lights, harnesses, etc.

Thanks for sharing.

That does look like a nice project .  If I wasn't so OVER LOADED with things to do I,d really put some serious thought towards that car .
That car would be a piece of cake compared to what i,m going through with mine .
PLUS My next car i think is going to have to be a convert for the wifey .  After all she does tolerate me .

What do you guys think of the paint code on the cowl tag?   'RR A'
Is there a strike thru the second 'R'? Wonder if the 'RR' was done in error, or if the black vinyl top was added after the initial build. I'd guess it's the former.
Edit:  442Bro site says the 3 letter paint code denotes the 'A' would be black wheels instead of body color.

Looks like a good car at a fair price!

The parts on that car are worth more than the asking price! Good thing I don't have extra cash or space,I would be on my way to Seattle! John why not have one of each model and transmission choice! That's my goal! If it was a vinyl top car there would be a number code not letter! The Z code cars have three or more paint codes!

Its not what I see, but what I don't see that I would question. You would need to go out there and make sure everything is there before you make the deal.. But it does look very tempting as a long term project. IF I had the space, my coupe project is taking up all my spare time. But its a good thing its on the left coast, far away from me....

I may be safe.. somebody else is coming to look at it Saturday and maybe he will take the temptation away from me. I asked the seller about the car and this is what he stated.
Quote
Hi, sorry for the delay. I've had about four inquiries, one other than you pretty serious. That guy wants to look at it Saturday. I've had the car since 1986. When I got it, it was in need of some restoration, had a fairly loud bearing knock and blow by from the crankcase, but still ran. I only drove it a little bit and then parked it in the garage. Since I've had it, it has been inside except for the winter of 88-89. The floors and trunk are solid. There is some rust bubbles on the drivers side door at the bottom and some rust around the rear tail light area but no rust through there. The frame is solid and mostly sandblasted. It is a complete car but pretty much all apart. There is an extra pair of doors , extra hood and trunk lid. The driver side rear quarter panel appears to have been replaced at some point, and there is some filler on the passenger side quarter panel. I wasn't good about labeling and bagging up hardware as I was taking the car apart, unfortunately, but I still have all of that. The body was off the frame for at least a dozen years as I got sidetracked with other cars, primarily late model Mustangs. So, that is pretty much it. I would like to keep the car but don't have a lot of room and also have a older fastback Mustang that I would like to see finished first. If I had a larger garage I would just tuck it away. I'm attaching a couple of pics and can take some more.

I can sure identify with his story! I bought a 67 Fairlane GT back around that time that I started a resto on. That got back-burner'd when a new job, new house and more Buicks came along. It's still in the back of my pole barn waiting it's turn.

Bob, I know the feeling when a good Buick project comes along.... I feel like I have to buy it. It's tough to turn away. I'm still surprised I walked away from a 66 Riv GS that sold for $1500 at a local auction this summer! Would have been a cool car but I have enough on my plate.
But.... you would do that GS well!

The seller has had second thoughts and decided to keep the car for now. I think he made a good choice.

I think he did too, provided that he'll actually restore the car.  If not, it would be better placed in the hands of an enthusiast that will add it to our family!

Bob, did you inform him of our site? Would be nice to have him join us here, and I'm sure he could use some encouragement!
.... and I'll bet you are somewhat relieved since it's no longer up to you to rescue this GS!
