Rear frame tie bar info needed .
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:20:40 AM »
I need help concerning the rear tie bar or frame cross member on the very back of the frame . It was pulled on at some point and is bent . I need to know if it is suppose to be straight across ( except for the dip in it for the fuel tank filler neck ) from one side to the other or does it have a slight slope in it ?
Was wondering if anyone had their frame off that they could put a level or straight edge across the back to see if its perfectly straight or drops down a little bit .
Mine is down about 3 inches in the middle not including  the factory dip and most of the welds broken .
Thank you .

John, sounds tweaked! should be straight between rear frame horns!, with the drop for the gas tank filler neck! If it's to bent , either a used or repro would be a better option! You're making great progress !
