Nice restoration candidate
« on: October 24, 2016, 06:51:23 AM »
Here's a no reserve auction of a 65 GS in California.  Looks like good bones, but the 10 year old paint job was wasted since it needs so much more.  One of the best marketing write-ups I've seen though.

Re: Nice restoration candidate (Reverb?)

Hi,

Anyone notice the reverb?
I didn't think that was available on a A-body, yet the paperwork seems to call it out.

Jim,

The paperwork says 'install reverberator' so my guess is that is an aftermarket item or available as an over the counter accessory from Buick. Interesting that the rear speaker is covered on the package tray.

Dan,

Yeah that is what I thought, first time I saw a reverb on a A-body.  Never noticed the package tray wonder ifit wad replaced with the wrong one or just covered with material.

Nice looking car either way.

Jim

Ends in 2 hours!
I'm surprised it's been bidded up so high, currently at $12.6k.
I love the color and the wheels, but the bubbling paint leads me to believe the body has many underlying problems. Taillights are very pitted as well.
Earlier I thought the seller was taking quite a chance offering it at no reserve, but it seems to be paying off for him.

Yeah Walt it is up there , but I,ve seen guys have buddies bid the car up hoping some one else will out bid them at the last minute .
Then if there buddy happens to be the high bidder they will just re-list it .
Thats biggest draw back i,ve found with e bay . (  Inflated prices )

Apparently sold for $12,900 with the last bid coming in with 6 seconds left.
